In summary of the type of volunteer we are looking for and the “basics” of what an interested applicant should know (and this is all on the actual application as well that is attached below):

· Camp Independent Firefly is a medically supervised overnight camp for children with either cancer or hemophilia and their siblings.

· Camp is a six day commitment, running from August 12 (Monday) – August 17 (Saturday), 2013

· Camp volunteers must be 21 years of age by the start of camp on August 12, 2013.

· In addition to a completed camp volunteer application, all interested applicants are required to go through a 30 minute one-on-one interview.

· Leaving from Las Vegas and headed to our camp location in Big Bear, CA, we would supply transportation, food and lodging while at camp for volunteers.

· We are seeking cabin counselors. Cabin counselors oversee an individual group of campers throughout the session and are required to sleep in a cabin with their assigned group of campers and co-counselors.

· We would accept applications from this group until May 15 and individuals would know if they were accepted by the end of May.

· This program is volunteer based. We do not pay a salary for our counselors to attend camp, but we can always right a recommendation for great students who are great counselors! J
